Jennie was a splendid cook and housekeeper. After her Husband Henry DeLong's death, she operated a restaurant, Carleton Hall, in Woodstock. It was in the old Dr Prescott house on Main Street. She lived with nephew Lee White for a time after giving up the restaurant as her daughter had married. Later, Jannie moved down to Lower Woodstock on the old homestead with her bachelor brothers John H. and Allen W. until her third marriage.
