Bradford Yerxa, Sr., son of Isaac G. and Martha (Shephard) Yerxa, was born in 1820, probably in Fredericton Parish. He was a farmer. He would have been about seven years of age when his parents moved to the Richmond area in 1827. He was Wesleyan-Methodist in religion.
On 25 March, 1841, Bradford Yerxa obtained, in Richmond Settlement, Parish of Woodstock, Lot No. 13 on the fourth tier of lots in Woodstock. He lived about a mile from McKenzie Corner, on the Green Road or Greenville as it was known then. Bradford Yerxa, Sr., married Mary London on 18 January 1849. Member of the Church (Methodist).
